Rough Textured Coating

Getting Down to the Nitty Gritty

Many of you are familiar with the PlayStation 2 “Tony Hawk’s American Wasteland” game O card that Shorewood produced commercially for Activision.  It sports a slightly rough texture that simulates the surface of a skateboard deck.  Shorewood’s new “nitty gritty” coating offers an exciting, improved coating enhancement that is more tactile.

Our “nitty-gritty” coating is another value-added decorative option for our customers.  It is essentially a silk-screen printing process utilizing a mix of multi-color glitter particles in a UV curable coating base.  A spot application can be overprinted in register to a printed image to create a slightly raised and rough, textured surface.  The coating mix can be opaque or transparent, allowing any color, graphic or text printed beneath the application to be visible.
