Augusta Mill
Located in the southeastern United States, the Augusta Mill is situated on the banks of the Savannah River in Augusta, Georgia. One of the most productive paper mills in the world, the Augusta Mill generates more than 650,000 tons of paperboard annually, operating 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. |

Three-quarters of the Augusta Mill's energy requirements are produced in-house. Bark, coal, oil and natural gas create steam to run the turbine generators. Black liquor - a free fuel by-product created by the pulping process - produces 50% of the mill's required energy. Water from the Savannah River is reclaimed and treated to meet regulations, then used in the mill. Every year, International Paper plants three new trees for every one we harvest. In an industry that relies on nature, International Paper strives daily to respect and protect our resources.
